When I was a teacher…
I found this photo – in all of its 16″ x 20″ glory – outside of my office door yesterday morning. I believe this was from my first year at Trinity (2005). Fun (large) photos were displayed all over the building that year, to show students that teachers enjoy reading, that it’s not just for Read more

Out in the Open
I’ve seen this video all over Facebook for about the past week and a half. This post could easily turn into a dissertation, so for now, I’ll just stick with posting the video, inviting comments, and refraining from calling out my 1st grade teacher by name (and Facebook profile link), who made my life miserable Read more

Sharmaine Featured
This video features me in my role at Trinity. It was filmed and edited by a co-worker, who works with students at Trinity to produce a bi-weekly broadcast called “Trinity TV”. Read more

Community Service Segment Intro
I used Photoshop to create layers in this photo, and to “cut away” the edges of the sign using the clone stamp tool. Then, I imported the entire file (with layers) into After Effects to give it the 3D effect, using the Camera layer and keyframes. Major kudos to my Adobe After Effects instructor, Faraz!! Read more

Adobe After Effects
[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9bBzgE0Eng?rel=0] I took a 3-day Adobe After Effects class last week, and it was absolutely amazing!! After the first day, I spent about half an hour that evening getting to know the interface on my own. I used this picture (below) of my friends’ baby, used a mask to outline the flower, a tint Read more

Tension
I wrote this post for the Edu180Atl Beta project. It’s no secret that rubber bands will break if enough tension is created by stretching them, and in order to ease said tension, you should release. Similarly, “releasing” can relieve tension in our lives, both personally and professionally. Although there are times when “releasing” may be Read more

Torn Meniscus
“The meniscus is a rubbery, C-shaped disc that cushions your knee.” With a severe meniscus tear, “your knee may feel ‘wobbly’ or give way without warning.” (Source: WebMD) This past week, my co-worker gave an analogy using the meniscus. Her mother recently had knee surgery, and the doctor explained how, with a damaged/torn meniscus, every Read more

Multi-Tasking?
Here is the two-page outline I followed this morning as I operated two cameras during “Wagon Train Extravaganza”, performed by Fourth Grade students at Trinity. It was quite challenging. I definitely had to be “on it”. They moved fast, among three places on the stage: right, left, and center…for 45 minutes. I had one camera Read more

Buttons & Headers
I designed this button in Photoshop. I just removed it from Trinity’s Spotlight on Art website, since the auction has ended. The actual logo (“Spotlight on Art 30”) was not designed by me, but I did manipulate it, to remove the background, so that I could place it against whatever background I wanted, like I Read more

I Wish…
It has been an extremely long day, one which I hope to wrap up soon. As I sit here in my office, simultaneously thanking and cursing the Moe’s nutrition calculator after eating my dinner in front of my computer monitors, thoughts are running through my mind (when aren’t they?). So I decided to write this Read more
