My last post was from a conference that I attended My last post was from a conference that I attended virtually while my mom was here helping with my then 4-month-old. I never would have thought that 2 1/2 months later, she’d be gone.

It’s been 6 months today.

This page was created to showcase my work that I love, with glimpses of my life as a mom who enjoys cooking and coffee, and who has made it through some life-altering challenges.

I’m still that person, but I’m not the same. I’m forever changed. To say that my mom was an integral part of my life would be a massive understatement. I was her only child, and she was my person.

I don’t think I’ll ever wrap my mind around how life can be so normal, and be reduced to shambles seemingly in an instant.

I don’t know where this page goes from here. Maybe I’ll continue sharing cool techniques I’ve used for work in my Stories? Maybe not.

I’m still learning to live without my mom’s physical presence in a world that doesn’t hold much space for a grieving heart.

I’ve returned to work, and life has “moved on.” I’m forced to move forward, but I’ll never be over it. I’m not “all better.” I’m not healed. My smile isn’t the same. I’m shattered.

It’s been 6 months, and it feels like yesterday.

💜 For this photo shoot, my mom was 50, and I was 25. 💜

What a week! ⭐️ I learned SO much! This confer What a week! ⭐️ I learned SO much! This conference was AMAZING!! I started putting new tips/techniques into practice in my work the very first day!

I would’ve loved to have attended in person, but I’m not in the season of life right now that allows me to easily leave for a week. But THANK YOU to all of the incredible organizers, speakers, and A/V techs, who put so much into making this a wonderful experience for us virtual attendees! This was worth every penny.

Happy Monday! ☀️ Still working on finding our Happy Monday! ☀️

Still working on finding our groove since I started back at work a couple of weeks ago, but I’m SO grateful for my work arrangement and for a supervisor who has made my transition so smooth. This should be the norm, not the exception. But that’s a whole soapbox on which I don’t have the energy to stand.

What I can say is that this photo was taken the morning after my first day back, and my smile is genuine. I didn’t dread it and I wasn’t sad. It helps that I love what I do, but it also helps to be part of a team who cares about your well-being. This should be normalized.

Huge hugs to all the moms stepping (or jumping 😬) back in.

We brought our rainbow baby home! 🌈💙 All 4 We brought our rainbow baby home! 🌈💙

All 4 of us “slept” under the same roof (and in the same room 😳) for the first time last night, and my heart is so full! I’m operating off of very little sleep and a lot of pain, but I am BEYOND grateful that this is my life now.

This has been quite a journey: 2 miscarriages within a year, a round of IVF resulting in 2 normal embryos, 1 successful embryo transfer, multiple visits to a perinatologist (high-risk pregnancy), 2 2.5-hour iron infusions, 5 non-stress tests (NSTs), and some tense moments the day before my scheduled c-section, resulting in his birth that day.

*I’m not looking at the camera, but it’s the best one we could get, and it is what it is. 🤷🏾‍♀️
