I designed the boxes for these employee welcome kits that were given to new team members at Tech this week. It’s my first project like this, and while the design itself wasn’t a challenge, preparing it for production was! SO many instructions! But to my surprise, I actually did it correctly! I was convinced something would need to be redone. I was so proud of myself!

I met with a client today to take headshots. We need them for a current project I’m working on for her, but it’s also just time for some current, professional ones.

I LOVE projects like these! I knew that I was shooting for general headshots, but because I’m creating the final product, I also knew exactly what I want to see in the piece. Can’t wait to bring it all together!

Sitting in this New York hotel in June, I had so m

Sitting in this New York hotel in June, I had so much hope. I had gotten up before everyone else during my son’s birthday trip to take a conference call for what I thought would be such a promising venture. I had more career prospects than any one person could reasonably manage (and was trying to somehow commit to them all). I was looking forward to so many new things, including my son’s first year at my (K-12) alma mater and trying again for another baby after losing ours last year.

Then we lost another baby, and the end of this year has been much like last year. We’re still picking up the pieces, looking ahead to the future, and trying to be hopeful for what 2023 will bring.

I’d love to feel the desire again to share more of my work with you. In due time, I guess. If you’re like me, wrestling with a mixed bag of emotions and not sure how to be hopeful without waiting for the other shoe to drop, know that you’re not alone. Our clock hands may be down, but at some point, they have to go back up. I have to believe that. So until then, Happy New Year! 🎉
