A 30-day social media campaign focused on the nine (9) values that guide Georgia Tech’s Strategic Plan
Campaign Goal
Build awareness and enhance the university brand around the recently launched L.O.V.E GT values.
Social Media Channels
Facebook (including Stories) • Twitter • Instagram (including Stories) • YouTube • LinkedIn
Strategies
- Establish social media accounts for L.O.V.E. GT (i.e., @gt_values)*.
*@lovegt is taken on several platforms. - Establish relationships with existing Georgia Tech social media accounts, and schedule date for L.O.V.E. GT campaign launch in the form of a video “splash”.
- Leverage content from existing Tech accounts.
- Collaborate with other Tech accounts to cross post and schedule collaboration posts (Instagram feature).
- Encourage user engagement—including sharing of users’ own content—by hosting a drawing/giveaway.
- A user’s name is entered each time a comment/story is shared in response to a post and/or when a post is shared using the #LoveGT hashtag.
- Use hashtags in posts to increase visibility: #LoveGT • #GTAlumni • #RamblinOn • #GeorgiaTech
- Regularly monitor use of #LoveGT hashtag to gather/repost more content.
- Repost comments/responses from users using visually appealing graphics/images.
- After 30-day campaign concludes, continue reposting content from other Tech accounts and user posts with the #LoveGT hashtag.
Metrics/Effectiveness
To measure the effectiveness of this campaign, I would:
- Monitor each platform’s metrics weekly, tracking data like reach, engagement, and impressions in a format similar to this spreadsheet.
- Track amount of activity/engagement using the #LoveGT hashtag.
Content Calendar
Scheduled posts are planned every 2-3 days, allowing room for adjustments as needed,
and leaving at least one day per week to allow for flexibility (i.e., unanticipated news).
