THIS IS HUGE! So many of us (African Americans) NEVER thought we would see this happen in our lifetime! But we can actually say, “We were there!!!” We get to talk about it first hand! We get to show our kids pictures and videos.
Last night, I couldn’t help but think about my grandfather, who was arrested during the Civil Rights movement for marching during a demonstration. I’m sure he would have laughed in your face if you had told him that 45 years later, a Black man would be elected President of the United States.
For one second, set aside the bitterness, anger, cynicism, and yes, even racism, in many cases, and just acknowledge the significance (even Neal Boortz has at least acknowledged it). You’re a part of this! Seriously, if you don’t see how big this is, that’s just sad.
