Humor & Thanks

Instead of the usual, “these are the things I’m thankful for” blog post, I decided to take my inspiration for today’s post from my friend, Kalia*. I found her blog post HILARIOUS the other day, and I decided to share it.
Here, my friends, are the Toddler Laws of Property:

  1. If I like it, it’s mine.
  2. If it’s in my hand, it’s mine.
  3. If I had it a little while ago, it’s mine.
  4. If it looks just like mine, it’s mine.
  5. If I think it’s mine, it’s mine.

So, my deep words of wisdom for this Thanksgiving day: While I’m sure we sometimes wish these laws still applied in our lives, they don’t. But for whatever is actually yours, be thankful.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING, EVERYONE!

* I know Kalia from Oglethorpe University. I wouldn’t have called us “friends” during that time at all.  Neither would she. I actually thought her crew didn’t like me, but I’m sure it was because I expected them not to like me. In other words, I told myself they didn’t before they had a chance not to. Make sense? I know. That’s just me sometimes. Anyway, we’ve become Twitter friends within the last year or so, and it turns out that our past actually extends far beyond Oglethorpe, and we never knew it!! One day, she mentioned knowing Dwight Howard in a tweet, and I replied that I also know him from SACA. The two of them went to Fellowship of Faith, the church where SACA was “born”. THEN, we discovered that she used to work at Gym South, where I cheered for two years!! ** Crazy, huh?

**Maybe it was three years. Mom’s checkbook would remember.
